So..we've been MIA online for a while. Little update...

Josh FINALLY had a break from school for about 3 weeks. We took a much needed little vacation and spent a week in Vegas. It was so much fun! May is always a busy month for us-it includes my birthday, Mother's Day & our Anniversary (Big Number THREE for us!). It's full of celebration-PLUS the end of the semester-which of course is a big call for celebration! We love Vegas and love to go visit. We crammed TONS in during this trip-went to the park almost every day, played with the dogs, Grandpa Jay & Grandma Kay, went out for sushi, went to Golden Spoon with friends, went to a baby shower for some other friends, went to the body exhibit, Josh even surprised me and booked a night at the South Point for a night--we left McKay with Grandma and Grandpa--think we ALL had a blast! Thanks Hun!

Needless to say-we've been busy--but in a fun/relaxing/WONDERFUL sort of way!

This little boy did not want to take a nap today! We tried two different times and after 30 minutes of him crying (the second time!) I finally went in to get him.

This is what I found haha.

Somehow during his ridiculously huge tantrum/attempting to chew his way out of the crib (hence the still in place-ghetto blankets tied for protection), he had wiggled one of his arms out of his shirt! He definitely did not appreciate me running to grab my camera and snapping a quick picture before taking him out, but I could not resist!

January Fun

McKay is almost 1 year old! Currently some of his favorite things to do are: put things in his mouth, pull his sox off every chance he gets, throw his cup on the floor and play with Daddy!

Last Monday Josh didn't have school so we decided to head up to Zions for the day. It was so nice outside and we had a great time walking around and playing on the grass. It's so beautiful up there! We also drove through the tunnel twice and McKay LOVED it-so that made it even more fun for us!

Big weekend for Josh! He ran his first Half Marathon and he did so AWESOME!! Our friends Nate and Lindsey came up from Las Vegas and Nate ran it with Josh. It made it even more fun to have friends joining in!! Linds and I had a great time sending them off, watching them different points in the race, going out to breakfast and then waiting for them at the finish line! We had a great time!

They both did such a great job! Josh finished (which was his only goal--just to finish!!) in 1:52---Yay! I'm so proud of you babe!!

After the boys got cleaned up we met up with some of our other friends from Vegas, Jeff and Jenn, and went to lunch. The guys picked 5 guys burgers and got the biggest, greasiest food on the menu! I guess they deserved it! :) This was also in celebration of Jenn's birthday--Happy Birthday Jenn!!! Thanks for a great weekend guys!

Wow! What a busy Holiday Season we've had! Somehow we were able to

cram so much and we're so glad we did!!

This was just a cute daddy-son pic, I had to post it!

We went up to see the Jazz play the Magic with some of my siblings! Great game!!

Can't go up to Salt Lake at Christmas time and not make a stop over to Temple Square to see the lights!

McKay was VERY good helping Josh study for finals.

Josh did such a great job on his finals and we are so glad they are finally over!

We've definitely enjoyed the break. Good job Josh!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

McKay was a tiger! He loved the costume, but every time I tried to paint his little nose black-he would tip his head back and open his mouth, so he could eat the lipstick!!

He has this funny smile now-where he scrunches up his nose and squits his eyes-it's pretty cute! Any time he sees the camera, he busts it out!

Happy 25th Birthday Josh!!

I threw him a surprise party in Vegas-it was so good to get together with family and friends and PAR-TAY!!

San Francisco

We took a weekend trip to San Francisco 2 weeks ago

and had a blast with my sister and her family!

McKay's First Airplane Ride! He did great! I was all stocked up with candy, toys and books and this little boy did great! He even slept the entire flight home!

Josh and I took a little cruise out to Alcatraz. I'll admit I was a little scared of being eaten by sharks on the way out to the island, but we survived! The prison was crazy. We did the audio tour and learned alot about that place...those cells were tiny!

Of course we made an outting to the park. It was McKay's first time swinging and he loved it! Little Yenna, next to him was having a great time too!

Ah yes, the fountain in front of the Ghiradelli Factory. Wouldn't ya know, my little boy would be the one to take a dive in just when I turned my head...for one second! Yep, he's a tough one and was just fine---he only got soaking wet!! The only real thing hurt was my pride, but we've sure got a great story to tell! I know I know....I deserve the "Best Mother" award! :)

We had planned to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, but it was too cold, so we drove across it a few times. This is my cute niece-Min and nephew-Ruxing. They are so cute!!

McKay is almost 8 months now. He has 4 teeth and has just discovered how to pull himself up to stand AND CHEW on his crib. Lovely. We've gone a little ghetto with our blanket tied across the top rail of his crib-in an attempt to help save it from his sharp little teeth carving some serious gashes! I was going to get rich and invent a teething rail cover for cribs---I've just been informed that someone beat me to that one....lame. Guess I'll be helping make that person a little richer when I go purchase one.....:)

The first time I realized McKay could stand up-I had gone into his room to try to calm him down from the tantrum he was throwing (he wasn't especially excited about taking a nap). I walked in and there he was...screaming his head off...holding on for dear life!

Who can deny that cute face??!

My latest hobby has been to re-finish furniture. I'm a little sad I didn't take "before" pictures of these two projects. The desk had light oak drawers and top, and the rest (including the knobs on the drawers) was forest green. I re-did it and even added cuter hardware! The bookshelf was given to me by my cute neighbor who moved :(-it was light oak as well (I sold that). I guess I'm on this red kick or something. I love it!! Hence the RED birds on my wall. I made those one night when Josh was working. Sortof random right?

We made a trip up to our cabin on Kolob with my parents the other night. It was so much fun! One of our favoriet places with some of our favorite people! We roasted hot dogs and of course had to make s'mores (for me!!)-they were so yum!

The rodeo was in town last week and I convinced my sweet hub to take me---he even put his cowboy hat on for a picture! (but only for that) Belen (my niece) had a great time wearing his hat and hanging out with us. It was pretty funy playing "cowboy" for the evening. I even wore my boots!

Grandpa Jay and Grandma Kay came up Sunday afternoon to hang out. McKay was thrilled to see them and had a great time showing off! Thanks for coming up guys! Love you!

McKay is getting bigger every day-he's now almost 7 months. He almost has 4 teeth and has just learned to crawl. His favorite hobbies now are eating, crawling, grabbing anything within reach and chewing on everything---and if there's nothing to chew on, he's always got his tongue! I tried taking a picture of his first 2 teeth-last month-and it only took me about 10 tries to actually get the teeth! These are just a few that we thought were hilarious! He wasn't exactly super cooperative.

We went to Vegas a few weeks ago with our friends, Jake and Chantel, and had a blast with them! Love you guys!! We even made it to the cheesecake factory....TWICE!! I recommend their new cheesecake to everyone---it's amazing and I've been craving it every day since.

Summer Fun

So we've been busy the past few months! Josh graduated from the Fire Fighting Academy-Yay! Good job Josh! He looks really good in his uniform too!

Now he is a volunteer firefighter for Washington City and gets to do a few shifts every month.

He also took a few classes at Dixie College over the summer and that made our life crazy for a while. But now we're enjoying a little break before it starts up again in the fall.

Two weeks ago we got to go spend some time in Newport Beach--our favorite place ever!

Even though it was overcast most of the week, we still had a blast!

McKay is already 6 months! Some of his favorite hobbies now are eating some grownup food, putting everything else into his mouth, sitting up by himself, rolling over and playing with his daddy. Josh makes him laugh all the time--we love it.

McKay has 2 teeth already! You can't really see them in this picture because his tongue is out (like always), but they really are in there--and they're super sharp too!

So much has happened since my last post (which was posted a month late-McKay was only a month old when those pictures were taken). Josh is still in the Firefighting Academy and loving it. He'll be done with that in May and then will be a volunteer while he goes to school.

We've been spending lots of time outside with the weather warming up. We blessed McKay on March 21, and I'll post pictures of that day next time--they're all on my Mom's camera! But it was an incredible day-filled with the spirit, much love and family and friends!

McKay has become our entertainer--his latest things are smiling and kicking. Although the smile isn't as frequent as the kicking, we LOVE it whenever it's around!! That huge smile makes it all worth it! He's ALWAYS kicking-he kicks when he's in the tub, when he's excited, when he's sad, when he's mad, when he's laying on the floor, when we're holding him, even in the carseat--literally all the time!

So McKay is already a month old. And wow..look at me doing TWO posts in the same month! You'd think I'd become a mom or something...oh wait. :) I am now officially one of those Moms who thinks their baby is the cutest and wants to show the world every picture they get of their little baby. Don't worry though, I won't post EVERY picture...but I did want to put a just few funny ones of McKay sleeping. He does the funniest things when he sleeps....

He also does funny things when he's awake too. We tried getting pictures taken a while ago and he was not happy about it. We were only able to get a few cute ones that time, here are some of our favorites.

We are so excited our little McKay is finally here! He arrived February 1, 2010--healthy and mad at the world--but now he's realized just how much fun we are going to have and is such a good baby! We are so blessed to have him in our lives!

So once again I am a liar and have failed to keep our blog up to date...surprise. But just so you all know we're still alive and loving life. We expect to have the newest addition to our family in about 8 weeks or so and in the mean time, I continue to get fatter. (but we're SO excited to become parents) Here are a few pictures of things we've been up to over the last few months.

One last summer outing with friends before it started to get too cold..we went camping up on Kolob at our cabin. (My first time in 7 years or so...a whole new experience!!) We played lots of games, took the canoes out on the lake and of course ate lots of junk. We even had a special visit from a mouse...sick sick sick

September 18 we moved to St. George, Utah (technically Washington, Utah). We had alot of family and friends help out and although we were very sad to leave, the move has been a good one.

We spent Halloween in Las Vegas with friends. Between a muder mystery dinner party and then a scary haunted house it was a blast! We miss our friends in Vegas!!

November 10th Josh turned 24!! He says 24 has got to be harder than 25--he "feels so old!"

Last night my cute husband surprised me with a home made dinner and then took me to see The Nutcracker. It is a "must" to go see it every Christmas...for me anyway. It was his first time and he wasn't too impressed by the guys in tights...who is?! But it was totally sweet of him to gets tickets and take me, and of course I loved it. Thanks babe!!

Of course, upon the insistance of everyone else who enjoys seeing just how big I really am, here is my baby bump. haha. Enjoy!

So...sorry it's been about two months since I've posted anything! There is a huge post...coming..someday...which will include all the fun we've been having. But just to tell all our friends...we are having a baby boy!!!

So I've kindof been holding off on the blog for the past month because seriously nothing seems exciting enough to post on your blog when you have this amazing secret you want to tell but at the same time want to wait to tell cuz it's scary! But...in case you haven't heard....We're going to have a baby! Yay! We're super excited! I am about 9 weeks along and so that makes me due February 5, 2010. Wow...so far away! We just heard the baby's heartbeat last week and the Doctor said things look and sound really good so...keep us in your prayers!! :)

Ya, that little tiny WHITE gummy bear INSIDE the BLACK hole is the baby! Still pretty tiny and yet so exciting!

The heartbeat. I don't know if there's anything as neat as hearing your baby's heartbeat for the first time. It's really amazing and we feel so blessed!

Birthday and Anniversary!

So I'm not the most technological person in the world and can't for the life of my figure out why when I want to include some typing in the same post with a slideshow, the stupid slideshow NEVER loads so no one can see it! So here's my blog....three different posts so there are two different slide shows and one post explaining the slideshows!! :S

The fact that I am a week behind makes things even more confusing.

So, May 2 was my birthday. We went up to St. George and spent the weekend with my family. It was super fun! I have the best family and friends--they totally spoil me. Josh even got me a cute little puppy--I named him Ollie! And....it's kindof like we have become parents lol

The second slide show is of last weekend. May 10 was our first anniversary! My cute husband planned a little surprise getaway to Laguna/Newport Beach for the weekend. He even arranged for me to have work off on Friday so we could go early! We had a blast on the beach, riding bikes, shopping and of course eating! Thanks for the best year ever Josh--I love you!!

friends and fun week

Well it's been another busy week for us. Our friends, Cory and Sarah came back into town and we got to spend tons of time with them. It was a blast! Tuesday there was a barbecue at their house (soon to be "old house") with lots of friends and of course...games.

Somehow we got to hang out with them Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday! Oh ya, and Monday Josh went golfing with Cory and some other friends. Tues. Fri. and Sat. we played games until the EARLY morning! And of course what would time with the Smiths be without some extra entertainment?! Thursday night we went to see a hypnotist down on the strip--complimentary of our friends "...friends...friends!" It was even more exciting when our friend Amber (the good sport she is!) went up on stage to help out with the "entertaining!" She followed every order up there and almost won a sucker licking contest too!!! Love you Amber and love you Smiths! Thanks for being our friends!!!

Also thanks to the Smiths for finding all of our friends. Josh and I were talking the other day and realized that ALL of the friends we hang out with are people we have met through the Smiths. And we love all of them!!

It was Josh's lucky week! He got to go golfing Monday AND AGAIN on Saturday with his dad and bro. Good thing he likes it huh!!

I need to brag for a sec.....What a good guy I am married to! An obnoxious wife sends a camera with her husband golfing (how nerdy!! But hey...gotta get some pics for the blog!!) and he actually takes not one but TWO pictures!! It doesn't even matter that the two pictures are identical except for one has people and one doesn't!! What a sweet husband...he'll do anything for me I tell ya!

More fun for the Granthams

So these past few weeks have been busy! We made it up to St. George couple weekends ago and had a blast with my family. Brien and Heather had a little baby girl---so exciting!! Their little family is growing! Josh and I love to play with all the little kids whenever we get up there; he is so good with kids and they all love him WAY more than me lol. Specifically Brinley. He is her favorite, it's so cute to watch her follow him around saying, "josh! josh!"

Lately we've been on this bowling kick with Brien and Heather and Eric and Bonnie. We go and take all the kids and compete. Basically josh and I win every time! (k not really....someday though :)) This is a typical scene when we are bowling.... of course we hafto pay attention to the kids occasionally in between turns and feed them! lol

Last weekend we went up to Provo for Josh's mission reunion. Although the night wasn't exactly exciting for me, it was so fun seeing Josh reminising (spelling?!) with all his mission buddies. They talked and talked all night. Lots of their stories were "very curious" for innocent little missionaries...

I finally convinced them to go to Chilis and talk so I could enjoy my chips and queso and catch up with my little sis--Hil!!

We stayed with my cousins Garrett and Russ who were awesome hosts. And watched conference with cousins all weekend. It was a blast for sure!

Our friends, the Smiths, came back from Montana for a visit--to work at the fair actually--but we made it out to see them this last Friday with our friends Brett and Bree Lee. I took my camera with the intention of taking lots of pictures of all the fun we had, but only got one! Josh and Brett sure had a fun time racing their cars and Sarah was awesome instructing and helping everyone else race!!

Yesterday was a VERY productive day for us. I finally convinced my WONDERFUL hub to make shelves for me in our "coat closet." Who the heck uses a coat closet in las vegas?! I've had nowhere in our house to stock food storage and I've really been wanting to work on that lately. So he was sweet enough to build me some shelves and now I have a perfect place for it all! While he did his little project, I made strawberry jam! ....All by myself! ....did I mention it was my first time? And did I mention it tastes awesome?! lol not to brag or anything. All I did was follow the recipee, which I do have to give credit to...my boss and his wife (thanks!) But ya, I'm pretty excited. I sound like a nerd with all my food storage and homemade jam excitement--but seriously---how exciting huh!!

another past due update

I'm not very good at keeping our blog up to date but here are some pictures from the past few weeks. In reverse order....

This past weekend, Josh wanted to have a little "get away" (Surprise) night..so...he told me to pack for the night and we headed down to..... (yes, drumb roll...)...The Strip...and had the "true Las Vegas" experience. We checked into the Westin Hotel (just off the strip) and toured/shopped the strip after a yummy dinner @ P.F. Changs. Of course I got to order room service for breakfast the next morning and we even went out to the pool for a few hours!! It was so fun--I have the sweetest hub ever!!

Since we moved into our house, we haven't had much chance to really do anything with the backyard. When we moved in, it was just dirt, but a guy came over and poured a little patio and put in some rock and four whole pavers! So, this last weekend (after our little get away) Josh put up our swing and I went out and got flowers!! I'm so excited to finally have a cute little backyard now!!!!

A couple weeks ago my romantic hub took me out to Lake Las Vegas for the evening. We love going out there and just walking around ... maybe even hitting up Rocky Mtn. Choc. Factory or getting some gelato. (Always gotta have food!!)

Also within the past month, some of our good friends--Cory and Sara Smith--our saturday night gamers bailed and moved to Montana!! We had one last chance to tell them goodbye out at the races at their little race-car booth!! Of course we did peek inside and watch the cars for a minute or two. Oddly enough, I have been to Nascar THREE times in my life! None of which I have ever paid for....and...probly never would.

But hey! It makes for an entertaining saturday occasionally :)

Yep that about sums up our lives over the past few weeks!! We are loving being in a house--and yes at some point I will post more pictures of the house now that we are all moved in. ...eventually!

So things have been crazy at the Grantham's house...s. :) We finally got all moved in and are trying to get back into the swing of things! We are so excited to be in a house and believe it or not we already had enough to fill it! The only stuff we had to buy for this new house was 3 garbage cans and a shower curtain. ...."you might have too much stuff if...." you move from a one bedroom apartment into a three bedroom house and can fill it up!!! Anyways, we are sad to leave our awesome ward but are also excited to make new friends in a new ward. This Sunday will be our first week!!

My Mom, and sisters Heid and Hil came down last Monday to see our new house. Of couse we made time for shopping and had lunch at our favorite pizza place--BJ's!

***I hafto include some valentine details because my husband is so dang cute! We actually planned to move into our house on Valentines so he decided to celebrate early. He sent me flowers at work on Thursday (Feb. 12) then surprised me and took me to see the show KA on the strip that night! It was amazing!! He pretty much is the sweetest guy ever---Love your face babe!!

Winter Fun

It feels like it's been forever since I updated our blog! We've been having fun with our families and friends and are still trying to pretend Winter isn't disappearing SO fast! We went up to St. George the first weekend in January for my niece and nephews baby blessings. They were so cute. :)

We've made some good friends down here in Vegas and roasted marshmellows around their fire pit one night. We also got together with a bunch of friends to watch the Superbowl! It was way fun to hang out with the girls while the guys watched... lol.

Last weekend we went up to St. George...then up to Brian Head to go tubing--it was a blast! Now we are back in Vegas still in the process of moving--so exciting!

...and that was possibly the choppiest post you will ever read from me. It was horrible and so random but now you all have an idea of what we've been up to!

Christmas dinner with the Granthams!

Josh and I had our own Christmas morning together then went over to Jay and Kays for breakfast. Later that afternoon, we went to Bedtime Stories with the whole fam and had dinner at Steve and Shirleys that night.

....even later than that we drove up to St. George and finished Christmas over the weekend with my family.

Our cute nephew Ruxing (and his awesome mom and dad :)) were still out from New York, so he was very happy to help Josh open a safe from my parents. But after that excitement was over he and my niece Brinley (we're favorites of eachother---SH!) played on all the "play structures" around the house from Christmas morning---yet to be taken home by all my siblings with kids.

and even setting New Years Resolutions--which is apparently an old fashioned thing. Who knew?! I've been asking all of the patients at work if they set any resolutions and like 90% of them had the same response, "why set them? They never work anyway." DUMB. Maybe don't set them so high--start little short bus! How do they progress in life? Do people just set their own goals in their head (which technically means it's a dream) on any given day anymore? Or do I just live in a town where no one goes anywhere?! haha. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I made sure Josh and I set some together!!

Oh ya, one more thing over the holidays--house shopping!

Fun Things

I'm in the habbit of posting two blogs in one day....then waiting a week and posting two more in the same day! Lame! Anyways, over the past few weeks we've been doing some fun things as the Christmas season is approaching. I just thought I'd include a few pictures just to prove it...

We went up to the cabin on Kolob with my family and had tons of fun in the snow!

We went to New York for the weekend---it was a surprise birthday present for Josh. We stayed with my sister Cindy, her husband james, and cute son Ruxing. There was so much to do and so little time but we squeezed alot in and had a blast!!

...Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge @ night is one of my favorite things to do in NY.

I'm getting pretty good at this! THANKS TO MY AWESOME SIS-IN-LAW: BONNIE!! So...this is my blog! Josh is going to be so pleased with the girly winter background but I think it's pretty cute. This is about as awkward as starting a written letter---but it's to no one specific now. Um...I'll start with...us. We were married May 10 and have been living in Las Vegas ever since. We really like it, but I do miss St. George. Fortunately I have a sweet husband who will go back with me whenever I want!

When we are here in Vegas, Josh works for USS (united shipping solutions) and is very good at what he does--and I work at a dental office. We both feel we have been very blessed with these jobs. We work with really good people so that makes it more fun for sure!

Sundays, we go to church and...teach primary!! For the past 7 months, we've taught the eight year olds. I just found out tonight that in January we get to start teaching the older class in primary which consists of about 8 VERY lively boys and 3 sweet girls. :) Josh is really excited....

Anyways, that's us in a nut-shell. Now I can add random blogs and they won't have started out of nowhere!
